DESCRIERE
Bucuria cunoasterii intru devenire in povestea Andrei, bradutul de Craciun, Elena Netcu.
Mirela Banica Preda offers a wonderful story to her little readers about growing up and developing, about knowledge and acceptance, and also about the expressions of love as determined by the limitations of the humans living in a sequence of needs, in a cycle in nature where every being has to accept the chance of being or not in a relationship with everything around.
Andrew, the main hero, grows up and evolves, he comes to know what love is, and, at the same time, he is eager to gain knowledge. He is, in fact, a tree born out of a seed, but who discovers that he is not alone; he perceives the love of a mother and of a father who reveal to him the beauty of the world, and its pitfalls, as well.
Watching what happens to the little fir trees as winter holidays are coming, Andrew lives with the fear that he may become a Christmas tree. While growing up, little fir tree Andrew understands his mission, the complexity of life, as well as its limitations.
What we find worth noting is the idea of the relativity of good and evil, since what is good can become evil and the other way round: “Those who seem to be good doesn’t mean they are really good, and those who seem bad doesn’t mean that they want to hurt you”. Andrew also learns that “you cannot build your happiness on the unhappiness of another being”.
Undoubtedly, the story of Andrew, the Christmas tree enchants children through the wealth of creative ideas leading to the formation and shaping of their innocent soul, to understanding life on earth. The author Mirela Banica Preda creates a fascinating character that discovers the world in all its complexity.
